ALL MASONIC MEETINGS SUSPENDED FOR 4 MONTHS

MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT GRAND MASTER AND THE GRAND SUPERINTENDENT

With the Coronavirus outbreak and taking into account the health and welfare of the Brethren which must take priority, with immediate effect the District Grand Master and Grand Superintendent have suspended all Lodge and Chapter meetings in the District for a period of four months.

In making this decision due cognisance was taken in the advice from the United Grand Lodge of England who previously strongly advised that those over the age of 65 years old, and those with hypertension, heart disease, lung disease or diabetes no longer attend Lodge. The Grand Master has also suspended all meetings in the Provinces.

Lodge/Chapter summonses should continue to be sent and the minutes for each meeting must state “The regular meeting of the Lodge/ Chapter on ‘date’ was duly called, however, owing to the incidence of the coronavirus, the announcement by the President of the Country, the Grand Master and the subsequent decision by the District Grand Master/Grand Superintendent to suspend masonic activity in the District, the required number of Brethren/Companions to open the Lodge/Chapter could not be assembled and the meeting was therefore abandoned”.

Please keep regular contact with all your members, particularly any who may be unwell.

Should the situation change we will advise further.
