OBITUARY – DANIE SWART, ASSISTANT DISTRICT GRAND MASTER
In Memoriam – Daniel Jacobus Swart

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our Assistant District Grand Master, Daniel Jacobus Swart (Danie), who succumbed to COVID-19.
Danie was initiated on the 4th Nov 1989 in the King George V Lodge No 3630 in Victoria West where he became Worshipful Master in 1997 and was exalted into the Beaufort West Chapter No 1946 on 8th May 1991 where he became MEZ in 1996
Always willing to assist, Danie also became a joining member of the Beaufort West Lodge No 1946 as well as in the Eastern Division, of the Unity Lodge No 3044 and the Acacia Chapter No 3128
Although the main language in both Victoria West and Beaufort West is Afrikaans, Danie led by example and mastered ritual work superbly. The annual visits by the District Team to carry out the Lodge and Chapter installations was looked forward to immensely by all and the hospitality afforded to the Team was second to none.
Danie’s efforts were duly acknowledged and in 2018 he was appointed to the Grand Rank of PGStB. Danie was further acknowledged on the retirement of Jack Lester as AsstDistGM when he was appointed and installed in his place in May 2019
A Mason through and through, he will be missed by all who knew him. He lived respected, and died regretted.
